Vicky Drummond-Hay, GDC Number: 251966
Vicky graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a First Class Honours degree in Biomedical Science before moving to London to study Dentistry at Kings College London. After working in an NHS practice in London, Vicky decided to return to hospital dentistry full time to gain experiences in various Dental and Surgical speciality roles based at St Georges and Kingston Hospitals. She obtained her Membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgeons, a post graduate exam whilst at Kingston Hospital.
Vicky currently works as a Speciality Doctor in the Dental and Maxillofacial department at Great Ormond Street Hospital, as well as an Emergency Dentist within the South West London area.
Whilst at Kings College London, Vicky was heavily involved in the Smile Society which ran oral hygiene and education classes in children centres and schools across Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham. More recently Vicky has been involved with The Face Charity UK travelling to the Philippines to provide free cleft lip & palate repairs to children as well as dental health education annually.
Georgina Kane, GDC Number: 264733
After qualifying as a dentist with distinction from the University of Leeds, Georgina worked as a general dentist in Milton Keynes, and was especially recognised for her work with anxious patients. She now works in the Oral and Maxillofacial department of Northampton General Hospital. Georgina has always had a keen passion for paediatric dentistry and dental education. As well as achieving a merit award in Child Dental Health at university, she has been involved with projects to visit local schools to offer oral health and diet advice to a variety of age groups. In 2015 she also visited the Himalayas as part of a team who provided dental treatment and education to over 300 children in the remote location. Georgina is passionate about educating children to ensure they are set up for the future with the tools they need to maintain a lifetime of good oral health.
Nikita Thakkar, GDC Number: 251297
Nikita graduated as a dentist in 2014 and prior to that had already obtained a degree in Biomedical Sciences. Since graduating, Nikikta has been working in general practice in West London where she enjoys all aspects of dentistry and the variety it brings to help enable her to provide the best treatment for her patients. She finds it particularly important to make appointments fun for children, especially if it is their first time attending, recognising that it can be a very daunting experience for them!
Alongside her clinical work, Nikita has passed the part 1 MJDF (membership of the joint dental faculties) examination and has recently completed the Aspire Dental Academy Advanced Aesthetic and Restorative course.
Janet Ung, GDC Number: 83969
Janet graduated in 2004 from Kings College London with a merit in child dental health. Since then, she has been working in NHS and private general dental practices within the Sussex and London areas and during this time has furthered her knowledge by attending several postgraduate courses.
She attained her MJDF (2009) from the Royal College of Surgeons, England and acquired the Postgraduate Certificate in Restorative Dental Practice from the Eastman Dental Institute. She has a friendly and gentle approach that will put people at ease and is very experienced in treating children and nervous patients in particular.
In 2012, she was selected to be a volunteer at the London Olympics as part of the medical team and has previously worked in the Community Dental Clinics in Cape Town, South Africa. Outside of dentistry she enjoys to travel, photography, keeping fit and anything food related!
Janet strongly believes in the important role good preventative advice has in helping to achieve better oral health and setting up good dental habits for life. She is very excited to be involved with the team at Yolo Teeth.
